Molecular Light Technology (MLT) uses acridinium ester (AE) 'flash' chemiluminescence to produce high sensitivity medical diagnostic tests. The technology enables AE compounds to be linked to binding reagents such as antibodies or oligonucleotide probes which have been designed to identify substances of biomedical interest such as hormones, cancer products, viruses and markers of coronary heart disease. The substance of interest is quantified by measuring the intensity of light generated during the AE chemiluminescent reaction.
